Bella and Max's FIFTH Birthday

Gavin and I are still reeling from the fact that our babies turned five last Friday. Max and Bella returned to their spooky roots when they celebrated their 5th Birthday on Friday the 13th (they were also born on Friday the 13th). Grandma Barbi joined us for the second of three birthday celebrations our very loved children are enjoying this year. The first was at school on Friday, when cupcakes were provided by Mom (okay, Albertsons) to their class. The second is the one pictured on this post, and represents the celebration with their family, complete with homemade birthday cake (okay, it was out of a box). The third will occur on Sunday, when Max and Bella are joined by 20-30 of their friends for a birthday party at Zoo Montana. They cannot stop talking about that one, it just can't get here soon enough. In fact, the conversation before bed each night sounds much like this: "what day is it today, Mommy? so tomorrow is Thursday? and then Friday? what's after Friday? is that our birthday party day?" We have this conversation twice every night - once with Max, and again with Bella. Ah, the joy of twins. Twice the love and twice the questions.

Max received these Incredible Hulk gloves, which were a huge hit. He is still walking around punching things and saying, "You're making me angry. You don't want to see my angry!"

Bella received a purple party dress and matching purple party dress for her American Girl doll, Nikki. Nikki has been wearing the dress ever since, while Bella wore her's for two days and then decided she would wait for "Show and Share" day on Friday when she and Nikki will go to school in their matching party dresses.

Mom made the kids cakes (with a little help from Betty Crocker ;). Max blew out his candles after an enthusiastic rendition of "Happy Birthday". . . then Bella was serenaded and blew out her candles.

After a quick change into their party dresses, Bella and Nikki insisted I take a picture of them with Frenchy (the posh puppy from Fancy Nancy).
Max and his Daddy played with Max's new Nerf Dart Gun set, complete with 2 dart guns, 2 sets of safety goggles and 2 vests with targets. They had a ball with the guns, aiming at different targets on the vest. When they "hit" a target, the dart sticks to the vest wherever contact was made - pretty cool.

Grandma Barbi gave the kids' this "totally awesome" pirate pool for their birthday. We had a ball on Sunday setting it up and then playing in the water. Definitely a big hit!Posted by Picasa
